iPod to get a camera ’soon’
The next range of Apple iPods will include photography and videocapabilities similar to that of the iPhone, according toTechCrunch.
TechCrunch quotes anonymous sources which claim Apple has placeda “massive” order for camera components, which points to theirinclusion in the iPod range. The site also speculates that camerascould come to every iPod in the range “but the shuffle“.

The iPod with camera is pretty much a given at this point inApple’s evolutionary approach to its audio / video players. Infact, we’ve already seen iLounge’s confident rendering of an iPodnano with camera . Now we have the first cases with matching cameracut-outs (like that of the above) for the iPod nano in addition toan iPod touch case with similar cutouts passing through our tipsbox. This morning TechCrunch is claiming that a “massive number ofcamera modules” for iPods have been ordered per informationprovided by a source in Asia. Add it all up and we should see theannouncement of a new iPod touch and iPod nano with photo / videorecording sometime around September per Apple’s usual pattern.
